Matcha Latte Swirl Brownies

These brownies combine rich chocolate with a subtle matcha swirl. The result is a creamy treat with a surprising tea taste.

Ingredients:
  • Chocolate brownie batter (basic)  
  • 200 g dark chocolate
  • 120 g butter
  • 120 g sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 g flour
  • Pinch of salt
Matcha batter (green swirl) :
  • 40 g flour
  • 20 g sugar
  • 2 tbsp Matcha Latte mix  
  • 30 g melted butter
  • 60 ml milk

Supplies:
  • 2 mixing bowls
  • Whisk (or mixer)
  • Saucepan (or microwave-safe bowl)
  • Baking pan
  • Baking paper

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 180°C and line a baking tin with baking paper.

Melt the dark chocolate and butter together in the microwave until smooth.

Stir in the sugar, then add the eggs, one at a time. Mix well.

Then add the flour and salt and stir until smooth.

Pour the batter into the baking pan.

In a separate bowl, mix the flour, sugar and matcha latte mix.

Add the melted butter and milk and stir until smooth, light green batter.

Spoon the matcha batter on top of the chocolate batter in several places.

Using a knife or skewer, gently pull through the batter to create a swirled effect.

Bake the brownies for 18-20 minutes, until the edges are cooked through but the center is still a bit creamy.

Allow to cool completely before dicing
